Well it was my Dad who kept telling me to listen to them since he told me they were a Beatles type band but I refused I just thaught they are just copycat wannabes. It wasn't until later I saw All You Need Is Cash in a Videoshop so I bought it & found The Rutles very amusing. So after that I ordered the Rutles album & it just came from there really. I'm glad I've seen them live well only Ron & Barry but it's something ;D

That's a tough one. I guess it's because they sound "Beatle-y".
I remember when I discovered the Fab Four. I listened to the Red and Blue albums. I remembered how great it was when I found that their albums were filled with equally engaging music. The Rutles is like finding some undiscovered Beatle gem.
I started listening because of the SNL ties. I was a big fan of SNL at the time and had just gotten into the Beatles. I was totally unaware of the music when I first watched the program, but now I can't think of life with out their music.

I think I saw the second movie on VH1 Classic like a year ago, and I thought the detailed parody was great. I got the first fim for Christmas, and I've loved it ever since. It's not really the film I like though, it's the music! Innes is a genius. I have both albums and although Archaeology took some getting used to, I like it just as much as the first one now. I'm glad there's a Sgt. Pepper spoof. I have to say though, I feel like I've found everything that exists about The Rutles. I have both films and both albums, I've done a lot of reading about them, and I'm currently trying to locate some bootlegs. What else is there? I wish there was more Rutle stuff out there, like some t-shirts or other memorabilia. I know there's some stuff on cafepress.org.....
